The eruption of Mt. St. Helens is one of nature’s most special deliveries, constantly reminding us of its resilience, and it spectacular capacity for change and renewal, all in a remarkably short period of time. This view of Spirit Lake in the mid 1990’s shows the lip of the mountain’s crater. Harry Truman’s Lodge, now under three hundred feet of mud and debris, would have been at the top edge of the lake in this view.
